L2 SIA Door Supervision Top Up with L3 First Aid Combined Training Course

Top-up with First Aid training is a compulsory 3 day or 5 days (dependant on the First Aid qualification selected) additional training in order to renew your SIA license. SIA is changing the way that Security Guard and Door Supervisor Licenses are renewed from the 1st of October 2021.

This 3 day or 5 days online/classroom ‘Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Top Up RQF)’  Plus ‘Level 3 First Aid (EFAW or FAW)’ course is designed for Security Operatives who currently hold a license from the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to work as a Door Supervisor and need to be bought up to date with the NEW Licence Linked qualification requirements that also came in from 01st April 2021 for new Security Operatives

First Aid

The SIA have stipulated that you Must be in possession of an approved First Aid Qualification with a minimum of 12 months left to run as of the 01st October 2021 on the first day of the course.  Below are 2  Level 3 First Aid Courses that satisfy the requirements:

Level 3 Emergency First Aid          1 Day              Classroom Based

Level 3 First Aid at Work                3 Days            Classroom Based

Course Length Including First Aid:

Option One – 3 days – 1 Day Classroom Level 3 Emergency First Aid plus  2 days Door Supervision Top Up Training

Option Two – 5 days – 3 Days Classroom Level 3 First Aid at Work Plus 2 days Door Supervision Top Up Training

2 Days Door Supervision Top Up Element –  (17 GLH) in total consisting of 1 day online and I day in the classroom. You will also be required to register and complete a video assisted eLearning course ‘The Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry’ module 1hr 40 minutes as well as Self Study for ‘Principles of using Equipment as a Door Supervisor’ module 1hr 45 minutes.

Assessment

This qualification is assessed by practical demonstrations, questions and answers, 3 multiple choice exams.

10 Multiple Choice Questions        20 minutes                Pass Mark  70%

  • Principles of Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor Module

5 Multiple Choice Questions         10 minutes                Pass Mark 70%

Plus a Practical Assessment Internally Marked

  • Application of Physical Intervention Skills

30 Multiple Choice Questions        45 minutes                Pass Mark 80%

Plus Questions and Answers – Internally marked

Practical Demonstration for Techniques undertaken – Internally Marked

Qualification

Successful candidates will receive a ‘Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (RQF)’ qualification, which sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The RQF is a Qualification Framework regulated by Ofqual and CCEA Regulation. It is also suitable for delivery in Wales and is regulated by Qualification Wales.
