Combined Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work and SIA Door Supervisor (In-Class)

This 7-day classroom ‘Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work and Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (RQF)’ course is designed to equip new Door Supervisors with the knowledge and practical experience required to join the ‘Private Security Industry’. If you are looking to be employed as a Security Officer or a Door Supervisor in stadiums, commercial premises, construction sites, hotels, shopping centres, festivals, private residence, or licensed venues such as clubs or pubs, this is the course for you. We will provide you with everything you need to achieve the high standards and accreditation, required by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) in order to grant you your SIA License.

First Aid

Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.

All Prospective Security Officers and/or Door Supervisors are required to undergo this mandatory First Aid training in accordance with SIA pre-requisite stipulations in order to achieve their license.

Course Length

7-days  (44 GLH) in total consisting of 1 Day Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work and 6 Days Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (RQF) 

Assessment

The qualification for Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work is assessed by Practical Assessment and Oral Questioning.

The qualification for Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (RQF) is assessed by practical demonstrations, evidential statements, 3 multiple choice exams and 1 written exam.

Qualification

Successful candidates will receive a Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work valid for 3 years

Successful candidates will receive a ‘Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (RQF)’ qualification, which sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF). The RQF is a Qualification Framework regulated by Ofqual and CCEA Regulation. It is also suitable for delivery in Wales and is regulated by Qualification Wales.

Certification

Successful candidates will receive Accredited Certificates of completion for both the Level 3 Award in Emergency first Aid at Work and the Level 2 Award for Working as a Door Supervisor within the Private Security Industry.

Course Contents

The Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work meets The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 in respect of First Aid at Work and is aimed at individuals who intend to develop and gain formal recognition of their knowledge, understanding and skills of first aid at work.

This 1 day course will familiarise students with the roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider, including assessing an incident, recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness, and assisting a casualty who is suffering from injury and illness.

Students will learn and be assessed on their practical ability to deal with casualties who have stopped breathing, are unconscious, are bleeding and suffering from shock.

Anyone who wants to gain a formal first aid qualification or has been identified as requiring Emergency First Aid at Work during their employer’s first aid risk assessment.

  • Managing a Casualty with a Minor Injury.
